Grounding/Earthing

Have you ever heard anyone talking about grounding? Does it really work? What’s the big deal? Who is it intended for?

The term grounding or “earthing” refers to the therapeutic benefits of physically connecting your bare skin to the earth's surface.

Believe or not, your body is electrically conductive! When you connect with the ground (grass, dirt, concrete) with your bare feet or body, the negative ions that cover the earth are able to enter the body and neutralize positive ions that electronics emit. Connecting to the earth (grounding/earthing) has been shown to stabilize the electrical environment of all organs, tissues, and cells inside the body. This provides for a stronger immune system, less pain and inflammation, better overall function of the body. ( Earthing: The most important health discovery ever, Clint Ober)

The world that we live in is full of many electronic devices that contain positive ions. These devices include fluorescent lighting, computers, televisions and cell phones. Electronics have a dramatic health effect on our bodies! Let’s face it, no matter where we go, if it is not you, then someone near you is carrying a cell phone which powers just as much EMFs (electromagnetic frequencies) as a computer. These devices put out positively charged ions and cause our bodies to be out of homeostasis (balance/healing/restoring). Research has shown that over- exposure to positively charged ions in the air contributes to fatigue, irritation, depression, stress and an increase of inflammation.

What can we do to get rid of this overabundance of positive ions?

Grounding! 😊 Take your socks and shoes off, place your feet/body on the ground, by standing, sitting or lying down or walking.

Reconnecting to the earth through the ground or through conductive grounding mats linked by a wire to a ground rod outside your house is called “grounding” or “earthing.” Both terms are used interchangeably. They simply mean you are connected to the earth and this connection will facilitate the reception of free electrons and stabilizing electrical signals and energy from the earth.

How much time do you need to spend grounding?

The key is to spend time with your feet touching the earth for 30 minutes or longer for a therapeutic effect.

Besides the internal stabilization of your organs, what are the benefits of grounding?

Through many studies conducted by scientists researching grounding, they found that there are many benefits to grounding.

· Better Sleep

· Improved mood

· Reduction in inflammation in the body

· Reduction in pain

· Improvement in overall wellness

· Reduced stress

· Faster wound healing

· Reduced blood pressure

How can you ground yourself indoors?

Yes, there are times when you cannot go outside with your bare feet for 30 minutes. Grounding bed sheets are basically like a recharging station for your body. These grounding bed sheets are made from 100% cotton and imbued with conductive wiring. These sheets provide the same benefit to spending time outdoors. A grounding mat is a great alternative to direct contact with the earth. It basically mimics the electric current of the earth. Grounding mats typically connect via a wire to the ground port of an electrical outlet. Grounding Shoes are basically any type of soft-soled shoe that is made with natural leather, natural latex, or cork material.

Remember most shoes are made of rubber and rubber acts as an insulator and protects against electrical currents. Obviously, spending time outdoors in your bare feet is the best. So, pour yourself a cup of herbal tea and grab a lawn chair and head out to your lawn – in your bare feet of course
